If you take care of your artificial grass, your investment will last for many years
Artificial Grass Servicing Scotland can service your synthetic grass. In between servicing, you can revive your artificial grass yourself by following our top tips below:
- Remove leaves, twigs, rogue weeds, animal waste, and other debris from the surface of the fake grass. For large areas, a leaf blower will be useful.
- Clean up spills immediately. Use a bucketful of water or your garden hose to rinse the area.
- Always use products designed for artificial grass, especially when cleaning stubborn stains.
- For gum or other sticky substances, rub an ice cube over the area to harden it for easier removal. A blunt plastic object may prove useful but be extra careful not to damage the synthetic grass.
- To rejuvenate the pile, use warm water and brush the artificial grass in the opposite direction.
- For dust, dirt, and other impurities, not washed away naturally by our Scottish rain, use a garden hose or buckets of water to flush the impurities away.
- Use a recommended deodourising spray when necessary.
- Always check the manufacturer’s instructions before using any cleaning agents, deodourising sprays, or chemicals. Products not specifically designed for synthetic grass can potentially damage it and can affect your warranty.
- Allow snow and ice to melt away naturally where possible. For a light dusting of snow, brush it away. For heavy snowfall, carefully use a plastic shovel to remove the upper most layer, leaving a thin layer to naturally melt away. For ice, to avoid damage to the fake grass or underlay, do not use salt or other de-icing agents. A blunt plastic utensil may prove useful for chipping away any ice.
- Prevent accidental damage to your artificial grass from cigarette burns, stray sparks, fireworks, or smouldering coals.
- Protect your fake grass when doing maintenance on machinery or other DIY projects. Battery acid, grease, solvents, lubricants, motor oil, and other substances can damage synthetic grass.
Following the top tips above on a regular basis, between annual servicing, will revive your artificial grass. With proper care, your investment will give you many years of enjoyment.
